Who Leaves Teaching and Where Do They Go?

This study focuses on teacher transitions, investigating the common characteristics of teachers who leave the teaching workforce and their subsequent employment. It finds that 75% of teachers leaving left to retire and math and science teachers do not leave at higher rates than teachers in other subject areas.
